Description
"Boston Gazette and Country Journal," Monday, March 12, 1770, No. 779. "Containing the Freshest Advices, Foreign and Domestic," four pages, with an article describing events surrounding the Boston Massacre of March 5, 1770, including: "Last Thursday, agreeable to a general Request of the Inhabitants, and by the Consent of Parents and Friends, were carried to their Grave in succession, the Bodies of Samuel Gray, Samuel Maverick, James Caldwell, and Crispus Attucks, the unhappy Victims who fell in the bloody Massacre of the Monday Evening preceding!" and depicting the four initialled coffins below. Likely a 19th century centennial reprinting. Frame: H: 17.25 in., W: 23.125 in., D: .5 in.
