Description
Set of Five Blown Glass Goblets in the Venetian Style, William Gudenrath, New York, New York, Dated 1995. Each stem blown, tooled and shaped as a blue and colorless glass seahorse on a bed of spiral twist curls within bulbous knops, supporting an inverted bell-shaped bowl and above a circular foot, each etched "Wm. Gudenrath" and "NYC95" under the foot. H: 11.375 in., Diam: 4.125 in. William Gudenrath (American, b. 1950) is a scholar, author and instructor in glassmaking techniques from ancient to eighteenth century glass. In 1995 he moved to Corning, New York to design, program and lead The Studio of The Corning Museum of Glass, and continues to serve as the resident advisor.
