PROVENANCE: Collection of James A. Helzer (1946-2008), Founder of Unicover Corporation.
NOTE: This painting was originally published on the Republic of the Marshall Islands 33c AJ-2 Savage stamp issued June 1, 1999. Following World War II, the U.S. Navy's carrier fleet adopted North American's AJ-2 Savage. Armed with nuclear weapons, this massive bomber was propeller-driven with supplemental turbojet power. Too cumbersome for large-scale carrier deployment, Savages were rotated between bases on shore and seagoing carriers.

BIOGRAPHY:
Steve is known best for creating vibrant and passionate pieces of art. He started his training at the age of 34 and had his first exhibition in Sussex a year later. He channels his inspiration from nature, texture and form with the inspiration of many great artists past and present and particularly from the Cornish artists and sculptors. For the past nine years he has been selling his work at Greenwich Art and Craft market in London. In the past two year his work has been displayed successfully in galleries in Sussex and further a field. Galleries in which Steven's work can be viewed are Io Gallery in Brighton, The Wood Store in Brighton Green tree Gallery at Borde hill gardens in West Sussex, Gallery fifty five in Hampshire, Fisherton mill Gallery in Sailsbury, Saltbox Gallery in York and Doghouse Gallery in Belfast.
