French Louis Philippe Carved Walnut Chemin-de-Fer Marble Top Washstand, 19th c., the canted corner cantilevered bombe top lifting to a interior mirror and a white marble top, sides and splash, over four graduated drawers, on a plinth base, on casters, H.- 39 3/4 in., W.- 33 1/2 in., D.- 19 1/2 in.
Condition
Veneer on the top of the case exhibits cracking with some areas of lifting. Marble backsplash and sides with horizontal hairline cracks and scratches. The mirror has clouding- losses to mirror silvering. Left rear wheel is uneven and needs to be adjusted. Bombe front and drawer with a vertical shrinkage crack. Structurally sound and in otherwise good condition.
