Description

Headed Inkstand c.1870 formed as two blue tits facing each other sat upon a large oval leaf, the heads forming the inkwell covers, all upon grey branch feet, shape no. 1458. Two known examples. This is an interesting use of an existing design, the very popular Minton Wilbraham tray which is designed as a blue tit on a leaf, in this inkwells case, Minton has doubled the Wilbraham Trays size and added a second blue tit to form a double inkwell.
