Group of (3) American stoneware jugs, 1840s and 50s, with cobalt decoration and applied strap handles, to include: jug dated ''1859'' within cobalt foliate wreath motif, (as found with hole, repaired cracks to mouth and handle); ovoid jug dated ''1847'' with cobalt floral decoration, (hairlines in lower half, chips to base and front); and ovoid jug dated ''1841'', with tooled shoulder and brush work to handle terminals, (hairline crack lower half into bottom, kiln glaze drip). Provenance: Estate of Joseph ''Jay'' St. Mark, PhD, of Newtown, Connecticut, historian, appraiser, and collector of fine Americana.
