Compare with a similar double-shell tureen, cover, and stand, with arms attributed to Francisco Piar y Lottyn, Qianlong period circa 1773, illustrated in R. Diaz, Chinese Armorial Porcelain for Spain, London, 2010, pp 230-231, no. 33. Another double-shell tureen, cover, and stand, with the arms of Pedro III, mid-18th century, in the Castle of Queluz, Portugal, is illustrated in M. Beurdeley, Porcelain of the East India Companies, London, 1962, p. 71, pl. xv. For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com
