[GASTRONOMY]: MONSELET CHARLES: (1825-1888) French journalist, novelist, poet and playwright. Founder and editor-in-chief of Le Gourmet newspaper in 1858, Monselet was known as 'the king of the gastronomes' by his contemporaries. A.L.S., Charles Monselet, one page, 8vo, n.p., n.d. ('Jeudi') to 'Mon cher confrere', in French. Monselet writes on a subject he is passionate about, gastronomy, and organises a banquet, stating, in part, 'M. Goyard, que je n'ai pas trouve hier chez lui a 6 heures, sort de chez moi: Il se charge du festin pour 2 fr. par bouche, vin compris.
