Date: 1846
Description: Very nice depiction of a scene from the artists' mask festival in Munich. Among others, Harlequin, a jester and king with queen can be discovered in the colourful hustle and bustle. Probably from the humorous weekly magazine "Fliegende Blätter", which was published by Braun & Schneider in Munich from 1845 to 1928. The print comes from the famous "Ludwig Rosenthal's Antiquariat", Munich. Signed "H. Schmolze del." below the image on the right, titled in the centre below the image. Subsequently marked on the backing sheet with inventory number: "17723".

Condition
Rather good condition. The sheet is slightly stained and foxed, slightly creased at upper margin, with small marginal tear at fold.
