Description: inscribed on the right below the depiction "Engr. By Winkles", inscribed on the left below the depiction "Rembrandt pinx", named "Abraham and Isaac". Depiction of the sacrifice of Isaac, a story from the Old Testament. In it, God commands Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac. At the place of sacrifice, however, an angel stops Abraham from killing his son at the last moment. Abraham is then rewarded for his fear of God, as he was willing to make this great sacrifice.
