Muhammad Ali vs. Joe Frazier "The Fight of the Century" Posters
Poster, 14" x 22", March 8, 1971, St. Louis, MO, for the closed circuit TV showing at the Saint Louis Arena of the Fight of the Century. The poster, fittingly had a Wild West look to it, and displays fantastic. Expected foxing and staining, else fine.
Poster, 14" x 18.25", March 8, 1971, New York, NY, for the Fight of the Century. The poster is titled "Fight of the Champions and features Ali and Frazier squaring off in the center around a frame. Expected foxing and staining, possibly trimmed on the bottom, else fine.
The fight, was one of the most eagerly anticipated bouts of all time and remains one of the most famous. Frazier won in fifteen rounds by unanimous decision as Ali was dealt with his first professional loss. It became the first of a trio of fights, followed by the rematch events Super Fight II (1974) and Thrilla in Manila (1975). Both of those fights were won by Ali.
