Muhammad Ali Heavyweight Fight Posters vs. Joe Frazier & Sonny Liston!
Poster, 14" x 21.5", March 8, 1971, New York, NY, produced by Murray Poster Printing Co. Inc. Muhammad Ali vs. Joe Frazier was held at Madison Square Garden. The fight, known as '"The Fight of the Century," was one of the most eagerly anticipated bouts of all time and remains one of the most famous. Frazier won in fifteen rounds by unanimous decision as Ali was dealt with his first professional loss. It became the first of a trio of fights, followed by the rematch events Super Fight II (1974) and Thrilla in Manila (1975). Both of those fights were won by Ali. See photos for condition, paper loss, foxing and staining, and wear to edges with strong color.
Poster, 14" x 22", February 25, 1964, New York, NY, produced by TNT Productions. The World's Heavyweight Championship between Joe Frazier & Muhammad Ali was held at the Auditorium Arena. The 22-year-old Cassius Clay shocked the odds-makers by dethroning world heavyweight boxing champ Sonny Liston in a seventh-round technical knockout. Liston, who had twice defeated former champ Floyd Patterson in one round, was an 8-to-1 favorite. However, Clay predicted victory, and famously boasted that he would “float like a butterfly, sting like a bee” and knock out Liston in the eighth round. Some foxing, creasing and paper loss, else fine.
