A collection of three Spanish hand carved wooden figures depicting characters from the Don Quixote, a Spanish epic novel by Miguel de Cervantes. The collection includes two Don Quixote or Alonso Quijano figures holding a spear or books, and one figure of Sancho Panza holding a hat. Each figure is carved with detailed patterns, and mounted on a figural rectangular shaped bases, made in a shape of a book. Alonso Quijano, spelled Quixano in English and in the Spanish of Cervantes day, is the personal name of the famous fictional hidalgo lowest nobility caste who is better known as Don Quijote, a name he invents after falling into insanity.
