Note: In August 1949 Robert Capa photographed Henri Matisse on his apartment at the Hotel regina in Nice. At the time Matisse spent much of his time working from his bed on designe for mural for the Chapell de Roaire at Vence. In our photo he is shown signing a huge poster. Magnum Photos was founded by Capa, amongst others, and handled a lot of his works.

Handling creases in corners, light scratching in gelatin, very small speck of emulsion loss near extreme upper right edge, small tear at right no more than 1/4 inch in length into the image.
