The Definitive Collection, London 2001, p. 515, ill. 855 In August 1949, when Capa paid Picasso a second visit on the Riviera, he also spent one day photographing Henri Matisse in his apartment in the luxurious Hotel Regina in Cimiez, a district of Nice. The 79-year-old Matisse liked to work part of each day in bed, surrounded by his cats. (Whelan 2001, S. 514)
