A rare Chinese Hongshan jade zhulong (‘pig dragon’) A pig dragon or zhūlóng is a type of jade artifact from the Hongshan culture of neolithic China (circa 3500 - 3000 BC). Pig dragons are zoomorphic forms with a pig-like head and elongated limbless body coiled around to the head. Early pig dragons are thick and stubby, and later examples have more graceful, snakelike bodies. Neolithic jades form this period are handmade and hand polished using primitive tools. 6 inches in diameter
