Description
18th C Antique Book Collection, The Spectator in Eight Volumes, London. Publishing information: Printed for John Donaldson, corner of Arundel-Street, No. 195 in the Strand. MDCCLXXVI. Written by Richard Steele and Joseph Addison. The first series was published daily except Sundays from 1 March 1711 until 6 December 1712. It was edited by Richard Steele and published in London by Samuel Buckley and Jacob Tonson. Some handwriting, all 8 volumes have the same bookplate from 1909. Measuring 6.75 x 4.75 x 1 inch. Some wear to leather bindings, missing tags on spines.
