Set of 3 Archaic Chinese Museum Grade White Jade Ceremonial Axe Heads & Dagger | Each carved from Chinese White Nephrite Mutton Fat Jade | Carving Style & Design: The Semi-Translucent Nephrite Jade has tones of white and creamy beige with darker brown and grey inclusions, as well as areas of opaque white-colored calcification. Each side of the body of the axe heads includes panels of elaborate fretwork decoration, carved in relief using the decreasing contour style (technique of carving down a surface to show the raising effect), forming several dragon-like zoomorphic figures, surrounding central figures. Dagger also features beautiful incised fretwork decorations on each side of the dagger below the tang | Date unknown; Stylistically the artifacts appear from Zhou Dynasty (1046-256 BC) | Provenance: Ex. Dr. Ora Eads Collection; Museum Deaccession, prior noted as Ex. David David-Weill Collection. Condition: Very good museum-quality unearthed artifact with natural calcification and differential weathering | Approx. Sizes: Dagger: 9" Long; Axe Heads: 8" H X 5.5" W; 9" H x 6" W.
