Polyphon Style 6 w/Bells Coin Op Disc Music Box

Item Details

Description

This beautiful machine in its elaborate walnut cabinet has its original finish in good condition with a few minor nicks and scrapes as well shrinkage cracks on both sides. The top crown with its open relief and large finials, with the word Polyphon engraved on the front, is a high quality accurate reproduction. The elaborate front door of the upper cabinet with its glass door has all its open relief carvings. In the front lower portion of the upper cabinet is its original coin drawer. Both the upper cabinet and coin drawer have their cabinet keys. The front door has its original coin slot. The coin op mechanism which operates with a 5 cent coin is in very good condition and good working order and has been professionally restored some time ago. The double comb mechanism plays a 22-1/2" disc with 16 bar type orchestra bells. These bells can be turned off and on with a knob on the right side of the cabinet. Machine also includes 12 -22-1/2" discs. Inside the cabinet the spring wound mechanism has its original wood and glass dust cover. It has its original winding crank and winds, plays and cycles as it should and sounds good. Also included is a high quality walnut contemporary base cabinet. This cabinet has been recreated in the correct period style and is a nice companion for this machine. Base cabinet has a large rock out bin for disc storage. Measurements for both the upper and base cabinets are 31" W X 17" D X 92" T. Another great machine from the Wayne Wolf Collection. *Please see following 2 lots for additional discs.
