Description
Original handbill and ticket for the Grand Vocophone Concert for the benefit of the J.E.B. Stuart Camp Soldiers Monument Fund. The "Vocophone" was a re-named Trademark Berliner, courtesy of Frank Seaman's advertising. The new name was briefly a competitor for the label of "Zonophone" but was never a physical machine in its own regard. The 1898 Concert was being held to raise money to support Confederate Veterans from Dinwiddie County in Virginia (by building a monument). Both handbill and ticket in fine condition. Handbill measures 9.25" tall, 5.75" wide. Great slice of history! From the Howard Hazelcorn collection.
