Faberge, silver gilt and cloisonne enamel egg, early 20th C., made by Feodor Ruckert, German, 1840-1917, enamelled in shades of pink, green, blue and purple in a foliate and floral motif with a cabochon ruby or garnet at top and bottom, interior marked in top and lower center with KFaberge mark, FR mark for Feodor Ruckert, both in Cyrillic and a 1908-1917 silver mark of 88 and a woman's head in profile looking right. 4 3/8" high, 2 7/8" diameter. Condition: some gilt wear to interior. Feodor Ruckert was born in Germany in 1840, emigrated to Russia at the age of 14 to work for the Yusupov family. For 30 years, from 1887 when the Moscow branch of Faberge opened until the Revolution in 1917, Ruckert was the only workmaster for cloisonne enamel in the Faberge firm.
