Description
A trio of documents 1796-1799, signed by notable French generals. Includes: JACQUES-LOUIS FRANCOIS DELAISTRE DE TILLY (1749-1822) French Revolutionary War general, led cavalry units in the Grand Armee at the battles of Haslach-Jungingen, Elchigen, Schleiz, Vitoria, and others. Named a Baron of the Empire in 1812. Partly-printed D.S. ‘Tilly’ 1p. oblong 4to., Utrecht, ‘5 Prairial l’an 7’ [May 24, 1799], a military discharge of Julien Sebille, sergeant in the 42nd infantry demi-brigade, who is unable to continue serving ‘…having lost an eye in Battle at Hondschoote, Sept. 7, 1793’; JEAN-HENRI TUGNOT DE LANNOYE (1744-1804) Brigadier General, commander in the Army of the Mainz and later took part in suppressing the Royalist coup of October, 1795. A partly-printed military discharge, 1p. oblong 4to., Metz, ‘1 Ventose IV’ [Feb. 20, 1796], discharging Adrien Lannet, fusilier in the 108th infantry demi-brigade, who is incapable of continuing service due to injuries; and VINCENT-MARIE CONSTANTINI (1751-1825) French general, commander in the Army of the Alps and Army of Italy, Legion of Honor winner. Partly-printed D.S., 1p. oblong 4to., Fort Brunette, ‘2 Ventose l’an Cinq’ [Feb. 20, 1797], authorizing Joseph Berthe to enter a company of veterans due to his being wounded. Attractive and in very good condition, three pieces.
