A tunic, tie, and breeches belonging to an officer of the 88th Division Artillery. The tunic is constructed of OD green wool and bears the insignia patch on the left sleeve, a red clover on a green backing. Attached to both shoulder straps is a pair of officer’s silver bars insignia and a brass U.S. coat of arms insignia pin, closed at the front by four similar buttons (one absent). Affixed to the collar on either side are two ‘U.S.’ pins and two field artillery branch insignia pins. Displayed on the left breast is a World War I Victory service ribbon, and contained within the pocket beneath are two extra brass U.S. coat of arms insignia buttons. Intact liner bearing the maker’s tag at the right from Men’s Apparel Shop of Louisville, KY. Accompanied by a khaki tie, marked on the reverse ‘JG HOFMUER JR.’ A few trivial moth holes, else a fine lot.
