Description
An original, multipiece wool World War I armband from the Training Corps 4th Battalion Liverpool Volunteer Rifles, 7 7/8 x 3 in., ca. 1914, brown wool with red felt GR insignia sewn on front and two-button closure at back. Lined in cotton, with ink-stamped maker's mark 'ISSUED UNDER AUTHORITY OF ARMY COUNCIL', and 'LL' to right. Also present is an ink identification which reads: 'Capt. A. Newton 4th Brig L.V. Rfl'. Two small moth holes, else fine condition.
