Description
Chinese, Qing Dynasty 1644-1912 CE. Exquisite Chinese intricate openwork carved white or hetian jade toggle of an avian / crane. The crane in a resting position with head turned back towards foliage scene with carved ripe peaches. Includes copy of analysis from Professor Gu Fang author of "The Complete Collection of Jades Unearthed in China, Science Press, Beijing, 2005" his analysis concludes that the carving is believed to be of the late Qing period and does not indicate signs of later craftsmanship. Size 3" L
Condition
The stone is well kept with no hidden repairs or apparent damage, the primary ripe peach has a well worn section where the inclusion of the brown skin is visible in transition
