An early backcountry scene with herons taking off in-flight, sun rays coming through the clouds, a poinciana on the marsh bank and heavy palette-knife grass in the foreground. An early Arnette painting with a clear Alfred Hair influence, as seen in the birds and grass. Signed and dated bottom right '69, 24x36 inch (27 1/2 x 39 1/2 inch with frame).
