A triangular white chantilly lace mantilla shawl, 19th Century antique original civil war 1860s shawl, elaborately done with bouquets of flowers, and foliated motifs. The grand scale of the rectangular design, and the gossamer delicacy of the silk threadwork are best displayed when the full view of the intricate floral pattern is on display; worn over the head as a veil, or as a shawl across the shoulders.Made of silk fibers in a beautiful rose floral pattern. The edges are scalloped and the piece is in great condition for its age. The lace is quite ornate and elaborate in an amazing floral design. Most likely made in France.

Very Good condition. Has a few small tears by edge with 2 very small spot discolorations, as shown in last photo.
