In one binder, including a few war-dated letters, an estate document detailing property including 3 slaves, a several page handwritten document detailing birth and death dates of 50+ named individuals, at least 15 being slaves, an 1801 slave bill of sale, a 'Calhoun Colored School' letter, an 1871 ministerial invitation letter, an 1836 abolitionist letter, an 1850 workday ledger, 30+ letters detailing commercial, religious and political content, a post civil war Oath of Allegiance, photos, numerous bookplates, several period written receipts for tobacco, taxes, etc., in generally good condition with expected wear and varying degrees of issues given age and use.
Provenance: Part of a civil war collection of a Sullivan County, NY gentleman 90 years young. The collection spans 50 years and was acquired from shows, dealers and private collections throughout the east coast and midwest.
