Description
19th-century etching print depicting a rat-catcher and his young assistant standing outside a doorway having their services refused by an old man; the rat-catcher holds a long stick with a cage on top containing rats and on his left shoulder sits a rat. After Rembrandt Harmenszoon Van Rijn (1606 - 1669), c. 1632. Housed in an old wooden frame with a canvas inner border. Provenance: Doyle auction house. Please refer to the Doyle paper labels attached to the backside.
