Canada goose decoy, possibly New Jersey, maker unknown. The solid body is long and somewhat flat across the back, with painted wing feather details. The head is carefully detailed with glass eyes and bill carving. There is a long age crack along the bottom with some wood filler applied over knots. It is possible that this decoy was in the early stages of repair. The keel has a lead weight and line tie hole, plus an early leather tie. The head and feathering resemble the early Wildfowler style but no markings are visible. In as-found condition. 14-1/4''h, 7''w, 25''l.
