The canvas is lined and has been stretched over replacement stretcher bars. The paint surface is in relatively good, clean condition overall. There is minor frame abrasion visible along the extreme edges. There is fine craquelure of various sizing visible throughout, notably in the top half of the painting in the background pigments, that has been stabilized by the lining. There is a very small loss to the paint surface at lower left in the white pigments near the extreme left edge. Upon inspection under ultraviolet light, there are small spots of inpainting visible in all four quadrants of the painting with the most concentrated in the upper left quadrant in the background. There is an approximately 1 x 3 in. spot of inpainting visible at center left.
