The rare first edition of this ground-breaking book in a damaged binding but internally good. Muybridge developed the photographic techniques shown in Animals in Motion to settle a debate whether, during its gait, all four of a horse's hooves are simultaneously off the ground.

Spine and margin of upper board staining and with some fading. Edges rubbed, chipping to spine tail. Some staining to page extremities. Fair Condition.
