Description
A Pennsylvania 4-Gallon Salt Glazed Stoneware Jug, D. P. Shenfelder, Reading, circa 1870, ovoid form, stamped to the shoulder "D.P. SHENFELDER / READING, P.A." within an oval and stamped number "4" within a circle above a large brushed cobalt blue double tulip floral decoration with graduated leaves, to the front body, applied strap handle to the reverse with cobalt highlighted terminal.
Dimensions:Height 16in; widest diameter 11 1/2in; diameter of foot 8 1/4in.

Condition
Typical marks, wear, discolorations, firing and glazing imperfections from kiln. The handle with a small tight hairline measuring approximately 1", otherwise good condition overall.
