A Chinese famille rose landscape plaque table screen
late 19th century
Depicting a figure walking across a bridge a village between mountainous cliffs. With inscription and one seal; framed and sold with associated wooden stand.
H: 9 7/8, W: 6 3/4 in.

Provenance: Estate of Yip Hon (1904-1997). Nicknamed Kwai Wong (translated as Ghost King), Yip Hon was a gambling tycoon in South China. He amassed great wealth in the casinos there through his technique of listening dice, eventually opening his own casino.
