Edward S Curtis ( American, 1868 - 1952 ) ~ Photographer and ethnologist. Work focussed on the American West and on Native American people. Subject matter of this photogravure ( photographer's negative is transferred onto a copper plate which is used to print or engrave the image with ink ) features the portrait face of a Native Navajo Medicine Man. Signed ~ stamped lower center reads ~ From copyright photograph 1904 by E.S. Curtis. Navajo Medicine Man lower left. Presented in a gilt wood frame.

Dimensions: 13.75 X 11 X .50 in.
Condition: Good overall condition with normal surface wear. Storage wear to the corners and the edges of the frame. Estate fresh to the market.
