A NATIVE AMERICAN NAVAJO CHIEF'S BLANKET WEAVING, DINÉ, PROBABLY SECOND PHASE, 1850s-1880s, natural red, brown, shiny and matte white wool, twelve rows of alternating rectangles, the ends with a red and brown "two rectangle" motif centering alternating brown and cream "three rectangle" pattern with red and brown rows; 80" x 46 1/2", framed 87" x 53 1/2".
Condition
Faded, possibly trimmed, apparent lightening from sun exposure, linen back conservation mount, good repairs intermittently throughout.
