Middle East, Afghanistan, Iranian dynasties 300-900 CE. The end of the Kushan controlled region of Afghanistan ushered in the annexation of the region by Iranian dynasties such as the Sasanians and later where wiped out by the invasion of the Xionite/Huna from the northern region and Hephthalites from Central Asia.
Finely lost wax cast bronze finial of a sacred bull or water buffalo mounted on included stand. The bull is well carved and with decoration to the forehead, back turned horns, and tranquil positioned ears. H 2 1/2" W 3 5/8" (off stand)3 1/2" L x 3 3/4" H on included custom stand
