Description
Rare and exceptionally fine mourning locket featuring a body of polished black tourmaline, with rose-yellow 18K gold mounts; displaying a photograph of the deceased on one side and a script monogram set with over 60 small round diamonds and diamond chips on the reverse. Apparently unsigned/unmarked, c. 1900. Gold and diamonds tested. Dimensions: H (including bail) 2.25" x W 1.25" Condition: In good antique condition overall; missing (3) diamonds. Pendant bail with file marks, dings and dents. Photo with fading and small loss along upper edge. Light surface dirt.
