Item 1: Greek Black Figured Terracotta Amphora. Small footed with a bulbous midsection rising to a single handled slender neck with a flattened rim. Black hand painted and incised athletes perhaps running a relay type of race. This vessel may have been given as a contest prize. CA. 600-400 BCE. 6 inches in height, 3.25 inches wide at the shoulder, and 1.5 inches in diameter at the base and neck. The amphora is in overall very good condition, with a minor repair where the handle meets the rim. Item 2: Small Greek Black Painted Amphora. 600-400 BCE. One inch diameter rim and base with a bulbous midsection of 3 inches at the shoulder. A small elegant handle is attached from the shoulder to just under the rolled rim. 4.5 inches in height and in overall good condition with small chips at the base and throughout the body of the vessel.
