Description
Pierre-Philippe Bertrand (French, 1884-1975). Impressionist oil on canvas painting depicting a figure binding sheaves of wheat. Signed along the lower right. Bertrand found success early in his career with an exhibition at the Paris Salons in 1907. He had his first solo exhibition in London in 1914. While fighting in World War I, he would paint works depicting his fellow captured comrades. After the war, he opened his studio at Noirmoutier-en-l'Ile, and would go on to paint there for the next 30 years.

Condition
No visible tears, creases, or losses. The surface is stable, and the color is bold and bright. No visible sign of restoration under UV light. Very light wear to the frame. The verso could not be inspected due to the nature of how the artwork is framed.
