Description

Harvey Otis Young (American, 1840-1901). Oil on board painting depicting a peaceful British landscape with a river or pond. Signed and dated 1879 along the lower right.
Sight; height: 14 1/4 in x width: 22 3/4 in. Framed; height: 18 1/4 in x width: 27 in.

Condition

There is vertical craquelure throughout the work. There are scattered restorations along the lower right and upper left; there is a large Y-shaped restoration along left edge of the right tree line measuring approx. 4" x 1.5" in size. Wear and soiling to the verso that does not appear to affect the recto. Light wear to the frame.
