Description
32 hp, 350 cc two-stroke OHV single-cylinder engine. Francisco Bulta was the co-founder of the Spanish bike builder Montesa, but he quit when the company left GP racing in 1958. Within a year, he had started his own company, Bultaco, which would endure until 1983, building robust, simple, and very successful road-race and off-road competition bikes. The Metralla was a genuine 100 mph 250-cubic centimeter road and race bike, but the company was equally known for Sammy Miller’s success in the off-road Six Day Trials. Road racers Angel Nietoand Ricardo Tormo won four 50-cubic centimeter world titles on Bultacos. The Bultaco Metralla on offer is a fully-restored road racer from Altinier Motorsports, of Treviso, Italy. With full frame-mounted fairing, a drop-down tank, and drumbrakes, it is an ideal and very competitive candidate for AHRMA racing.
