Description
CIGAR (April 18, 1990 – October 7, 2014), was an American Thoroughbred racehorse who was the 1995 and 1996 American Horse of the Year. He was the first American racehorse racing against top-class competition to win 16 consecutive races since Triple Crown winner Citation did so between 1948 and 1950. A homebred for Allen Paulson and trained by Bill Mott with Jerry Bailey as his regular rider, Cigar retired as the richest Thoroughbred in United States racing history with $9,999,815 in earnings. Since then, there was ony one U.S .Based horse to pass that mark.........Very Impressive Indeed. "It's really cool to have had a little piece of one of the greatest horses of all time," Pon, Country Life' co-owner, and the man who foaled him said "It's a huge thing. That was really a fun ride to see him win 16 in a row and go to Dubai and win the first Dubai World Cup. All the things he did generated so much positive energy, publicity, and attention for horse racing. He was like a big magnet and I miss him"This photograph is wrapped in cellophane and bears the signatures of all three of these legendary equestrian professionals, making this picture worth a good deal of money. RARE and worthy of a large investment. Horse racing enthusiasts will FLIP over this great horse and his team.
