The beloved satirical novel, “Adventures of Don Quixote De La Mancha” follows the delusional Don Quixote and his loyal squire, Sancho Panza, on their misadventures as self-proclaimed knights. The comical story explores themes of reality, illusion, and the human condition, and is considered one of the most influential works in Western literature.
This scarce 19th-century printing of Miguel de Cervantes Saavedras 17th-century classic was translated into English from the original Spanish by Charles Jervas (ie. Jarvis) and published by Porter and Coates in 1876. The publishers would later have the work reprinted in 1881 as part of their “Alta Edition” series, which ran throughout the 1880s and 1890s.
