Early 17th Century English Book of Common Prayer with Old and New Testaments
being The Booke of Common Prayer, with the Psalter or Psalmes of David: Of that Translation which is appointed to be used in Churches. (London: Robert Barker, 1606 ), followed by The Bible. That is, The Holy Scriptures conteined in the Old and New Testament. Translated according to the Ebrew and Greeke, conferred with the best Translations in diuers Languages (London, Robert Barker, 1608), with The New Testament of our Lord Jesus Christ, Translated out of the Greek...Englished by L. Tomson. ( London: Robert Barker,1608.), quarto (9 in.), likely 18th century full calf bound under front and back 17th century panels with gilt rules, raised bands on the spine, scattered engravings throughout.
An early owner of this book annotated certain pages of the book in tiny Latin print; another person, Robert Chalker, claimed this book as "his," placing a signature with the date "1730" in two places.
