A vibrant painting depicting a fishing scene with five abstract figures working together along the shore, with a broad expanse of ocean waters below a moody sky by Kalpana of Madras, India. All is delineated in an avant-garde manner - the figures, sandy shore, rolling waves, and billowing clouds brought to life via expressive loose brushstrokes, areas of impasto, as well as sweeping black gestural contours defining the figures - all suggesting the artist's interest in Post-Impressionism and Abstract Expressionism.
