Description
Colima, Mexico ca. 100 BCE to 250 AD. A reddish-brown hollow pottery seated male hunchback dwarf figure with a small collared spout in the top of his head and short arms held in the forward position. Dimensions: 11" H x 9" W. Provenance: Arte Primitivo, 2009 acquired by Dr. Henry Cherrick, a professor and dean at UCLA School of dentistry who pioneered government programs promoting dental care in HIV/AIDs patients. He was an avid collector of fine art and antiquities and died at the age of 84 in 2023. Original documents included.
Condition
Excellent, Areas of root marks on the surface and a shallow chip in left hand, otherwise intact.
