Description
This is a nice Kansas City Southern Railroad switchman’s lantern, made by Adams and Westlake, with patent dates on the rim of 1895, 1908, and 1909. This bell bottom model is all original, though it looks like it has been clear-coated and sealed at some point in its life. Original fount and brass burner. “K.C.S.Ry” is cast into the rim of the lantern. The clear Corning CNX globe is cast with “K.C.So.Ry.” The globe has what looks to be some “paint spatters” on it, of which we were able to clean a few off with some mineral spirits. You should be able to easily clean the globe. Rare car globe style that is seldom seen—no cracks in the globe. Very nice piece!
