Item Details

Description

This is a new, unused Louisville and Jeffersonville Bridge Company $100 per share capital stock certificate from the 1800s. Certificate number 353. Built for the “Big Four” railroad, the Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago, and St. Louis Railroad. Vignettes of an 1870s steam locomotive and an eagle, this bridge was completed across the Ohio River in 1895 between Indiana and Kentucky, and still stands today as a pedestrian bridge.
