JAMES GILLRAY (British, 1757-1815). Pair: "The Fall of Icarus" and "John Bull and the Sinking Fund", Present impressions were likely included in "The Works of James Gillray, from the Original Plates, With the Addition of Many Subjects Not Before Collected " printed and published for Henry G. Bohn, York Street, Covent Garden, by Charles Whiting (1849). Both artworks are printed on one sheet of paper (printed back and front) and numbered "334" (Icarus) and "332" (John Bull) in the upper right hand corner. "Icarus" is hand-colored. Unframed. Note: The artwork is not glued down to a hard surface; it is mounted with hinges to a removable back board. - Image: 14 3/16 x 9 7/8 in.; Sheet: 17,5 x 12.25 in
